The Pininfarina Battista, the first hypercar from the storied design house, has had its front end redesigned before going into production.

Pininfarina says it has evolved the "purity and beauty of front surfaces" in response to aerodynamic testing. The automaker claims the revisions provide a "greater visual connection between front and back".

The U-shaped element running between the Battista's headlights has been removed, as have the ducts around the headlamps.

The entire lower air intake has been reshaped, and carbon-fibre extensions have been added to the corners of the car. In addition the wing mirrors have been given an angular redesign.

More simulation testing will be done ahead of wind tunnel and development drive testing during the northern summer.

The revised Battista will make its physical debut at the Turin motor show, which kicks off on June 23, local time.

Production of the Battista is still scheduled to begin in 2020 at a factory near Turin, Italy. Production will be capped at 150 vehicles, with 50 allocated to Europe, North America, and Middle East/Asia.

Pricing kicks off from €2 million ($3.3 million). Sharing its drivetrain with the Rimac C_Two, the Battista has four electric motors with a total output of 1415kW and a 0-100km/h time of under two seconds.

Equipped with a 120kWh battery pack, the Battista should an official driving range of around 450 kilometres.
